Jenna Hions

Jenna came to speak to our class at my University about her time applying for internships and how she got a job at Tiger Print where she is hoping to become senior designer. Also Tiger Print is a company that designs and creates cards, cards, gifting and Christmas decorations to calendars & diaries, children's toys and craft products.

These were her tops tips when she talked about her experience at New Designers in London after her graduate show.

  • Be present on the stall at all times not only in body but in mind as well.

  • If there are more then one of you on the stall tag team so you can have a chance to go round and look at all the other stalls that New Designers have to show.

  • Create press packs with so potential clients to look at your work after New Designers.

  • Create postcards with your information on like your website, email, social media and include an image that you have designed.

  • Research who is going to be there so you can be prepared if they come to your stall, and take an interest in your work.

  • Be confident about your work and don’t put yourself down because if you don’t believe in your work then they might not.

  • Be memorable for the right reasons.

  • Also don’t forget to smile.

I hope these tips are useful because I as a budding textiles designer myself will hope to one day be able to show my work and designs at New Designers.
