Jenna Hions
Jenna came to speak to our class at my University about her time applying for internships and how she got a job at Tiger Print where she is hoping to become senior designer. Also Tiger Print is a company that designs and creates cards, cards, gifting and Christmas decorations to calendars & diaries, children's toys and craft products.
These were her tops tips when she talked about her experience at New Designers in London after her graduate show.
Be present on the stall at all times not only in body but in mind as well.
If there are more then one of you on the stall tag team so you can have a chance to go round and look at all the other stalls that New Designers have to show.
Create press packs with so potential clients to look at your work after New Designers.
Create postcards with your information on like your website, email, social media and include an image that you have designed.
Research who is going to be there so you can be prepared if they come to your stall, and take an interest in your work.
Be confident about your work and don’t put yourself down because if you don’t believe in your work then they might not.
Be memorable for the right reasons.
Also don’t forget to smile.
I hope these tips are useful because I as a budding textiles designer myself will hope to one day be able to show my work and designs at New Designers.
